What started as a quasi-complaint about the state of French schools has gained momentum, and is now almost a full blown 'French Revolution'. Over last weekend, HALF A MILLION people took to the streets.
The brainwashed lefty children of France are still rioting. In fact I think there's nothing they love more in France than lobbing a few Pavées at the Gendarmes. Gratuitous violence, car-burning, and looting, are almost the National Sport. The junior-left, and Islam, have now joined forces, and the flames are being well fanned!
Of course it's not only children who are 'demonstrating'. The fragrant extreme left-wing Mayor of St Denis in Paris, M Bally Bagayoko (center in photo), is joining in too. He is encouraging his acolytes to 'man the barricades', and force the government to give-in to whatever his/their crazy demands are!
Looking at film footage, one can immediately see that the rioters, arsonists, and looters, are not all schoolchildren; most seem to be adolescent N African immigrants, who are joining-in for a bit of anarchistic fun. This (below) is just one example of their handiwork; the beautiful old historic Town Hall in Limoges has been burned to the ground. Imagine that; these people who came to France for a better life have now totally destroyed an important national building. Well done guys!!!
Elsewhere they are attacking 'designer stores', and (predictably) anywhere that sells Trainers, Cigs, or Alcohol.
Perhaps if M Bagayoko, who is of Malian Muslim origin, had spent more of St Denis's money on his local schools he might not have had to humiliate himself. St Denis is one of Paris's largest suburbs, and Health and Education should be amongst his priorities; not encouraging riots.
It always worries me when I see politicians working AGAINST the welfare of their own community, and their country. Bagayoko is showing a very bad example to the children he is supposedly supporting.
Dimwitted hooligans are well known for following whatever trend is on TikTok or wherever else, so it comes as no surprise that children in Belgium and Italy have taken to the streets in a copycat version of France. They are rioting, burning, and lobbing missiles at the Cops just like their French cousins. One has to wonder how many other countries will follow suit. If TikTok tells them to do so; THEY WILL.
I have mentioned previously that my life-long love affair with France is slowly coming to an end. I think you can imagine why!
What connection (if any) there is between left-wing pupils complaining about their education, and hundreds of thousands of immigrants looting and destroying, is still a mystery. It's a strange alliance, but, predictably, one that I think we all understand!

You are correct in your assessment and reaction. I lived in Paris for a total of 5 months on 3 different visits, it was a magical city of art and history then. No more.
ReplyDeleteI love both France and Paris, but over the past 50 years I've seen a terrible decline. France used to be such a warm welcoming country, filled with happy people. It has now become 'angry' and often unpleasant. The population has changed, and the old and new don't mix! It's happening everywhere.
DeleteHuguette
I'm sorry to have to say that the only people who are making this 'racist' are the rioters themselves. We all know who they are (including you), and they are bringing the criticism upon themselves. If you look at the film footage of what is happening, you will see exactly what I mean. I can assure you that the native population will not be happy. Ask them!
DeleteHuguette
Thank you for reminding me that I am 'An Old Man'. Remember that with age comes wisdom!
DeleteMalheureusement pour la sagesse ce n'est pas toujours le cas.
Delete80 ans n'est plus la jeunesse. Comme on dit c'est la dernière ligne droite. Je vous souhaite beaucoup d'années à venir.
Huguette
The whole world is criticising the behaviour of these hooligans. Stealing, destroying buildings, and attacking the police. Yet you are a lone voice in support of them. Does that not make you think twice?
DeleteHuguette
The irony will be obvious to most people. The whole world is appalled by what these extreme left wingers are doing, but the one person to defend these hooligans is a French woman. Can it get any more bizarre than that!
ReplyDeleteSeeing the images of France falling apart live on television, two things occur to me. Firstly, I can see why you escaped. Secondly, I am so happy to live on our green and pleasant island where peace and prosperity reign and people are nice to each other.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, it worries me that French rioting could cause mimics in our cities to follow suit, It just takes a spark to start a fire.
I heard this morning that one of these French hooligan groups is trying to get English youths to riot next weekend in London. I really hope they take no notice.
DeleteIt’s strange how demonstrations now seem to become an opportunity for the minority to loot and cause damage.
ReplyDeleteLabelling as far right or far left doesn’t help, in my opinion. Look at the recent masked Stop the Boats activists that were labelled “far right” - not helpful. Just call them masked thugs.
As a 'middle of the road' person it worries me hugely that both the extreme right and extreme left are gaining so much ground. In my 80 year lifetime, I've never known another time like it.
DeleteTranslation. Your French participant in this conversation seems intent on stirring the pot.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to argue, but you live in a small village and don't know life in Paris or other big cities. There are problems in my country, but systematically linking them to skin color or religion is simplistic. They are French. We shouldn't follow far-right propaganda. You say you're not racist, but your comment says otherwise. Very unfortunate. That being said, I don't support the destruction at all, but I also don't support the extreme violence of the police. Huguette
Pfft pfft pftt
DeleteThe trouble is people fall for simple solutions to complex problems…make America Great Again, Stop the Boats.
ReplyDeleteI don't really mind what groups people join, but this sort of violence and destruction by a youthful section of society is appalling, and really has to be stopped by whatever means. Burning down the Town Hall in Limoges is no less than 'treason', and must be treated as such.
DeleteThe Wizard of Oz. Look behind the curtain and you'll see who's moving the levers. Reminds me of our BLM riots. Very well funded and very well organized. The West needs to get over its misplaced compassion and start naming names. I remember thinking when Angela Merkle opened the flood gates in 2015, this is not going to end well.
ReplyDeleteBoth England and France have their 'flood gates' still open, and the situation has become worse than dangerous. This violence in France is just one result. I expect the same people are responsible in Belgium and elsewhere. As you say; it isn't going to end well.
DeleteIt has really nothing to do with migration. Too easy peasy buddy.
ReplyDeleteKeep your head in the sand, it's easier like that.
DeleteWhat are you doing ? React on your blog or are you participating to change things ? UK has big problems too, so why not organise meetings with young people to discuss society problems , you have experience and so can transmit values.
DeleteI read today that when the Huns sacked Rome it wasn't a military type invasion. Romans had invited them to work for them, doing menial work that they didn't want to do.... Sound familiar? If we don't learn from History, we will repeat the same mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that our politicians are doing exactly that. They are avoiding/ignoring the real problems that our countries have, and just placing 'sticking plasters' on the bits that don't matter so much.
DeleteThe novel Frankenstein written in 1816 to warn against unchecked science reminds me of the corrupt politicians who thought to create a permanent voting block so they could retain power and all that goes with it. "Come on in. Vote for us and we'll give you free stuff." Like the movie, Field of Dreams. "If you build it, they will come." And they did. But like Dr. Frankenstein, they created a monster they can't control anymore. And Cro, you were very polite to say sand.
ReplyDeleteThis is why the current UK government will do nothing to reduce the HUGE benefits bill. These are the people who vote for them! They need them on their side!
DeleteI will finish my comments on this subject by reminding people that Burnham would like to rejoin the EU, giving all these violent hooligans the right to come to live here in the UK. Imagine that!!!
ReplyDeleteUK is ruined , getting out⅘ of the EU was the biggest mistake ever and concerning the hooligans , your country has a big bunch of them. British hooligans are the worst and controlled in all the countries where they attend football games. Drunk, loud and violent.
DeleteGot here a bit late Cro, and just wanted to say that I rarely ever agree with anything Trump says. But regarding the chaotic situation in Europe right now, is he saying things that most people are too frightened to say?
ReplyDeleteApparently Americans are up in arms that Trump wants to release the locked up financial Sanctions hitting Russia which began at the start of the War, believing it might end the four year conflict. It's being described as traitorous.
Interestingly a Parisian posted about the riots in Paris on Facebook this week with an observation saying ..."Pork products, toiletries and toilet paper mysteriously untouched by Paris rioters."
And strangely no mention of the European chaos in ITV News this evening. Yet more reasons not to follow the Lame Stream Media.
