I've written before about Brand, mostly concerning his continuing love-affair with himself.
Brand has always been an unpleasant and arrogant character who grasps at any bandwagon for what advantage it might bring. As with so many 'of his ilk', just when he's in trouble he has suddenly claimed to be a Christian; he thinks it might impress. No Mr Brand; no-one is fooled.
He is at present in court for having allegedly violently raped several girls and women leaving them traumatised. He seemed to think he could go around behaving as he wished, and get away with it. Well, things catch-up with you!
With all the evidence coming from his victims, I fear his run of luck has come to an end. If he doesn't end-up at 'His Majesty's Pleasure' I will be amazed; yet he still poses for photographs for his admirers as he enters court.
After his, and Jonathan Ross's, disgraceful behaviour on BBC Radio 2, where he made very nasty remarks about Andrew Sachs's granddaughter, I had imagined that we'd never hear his name again, but he's a pushy character, and has managed to wheedle his way back into the limelight.
Well I think that limelight is about to fade in exchange for the darkness of a prison cell. And from what I've heard, it'll be well deserved.
He's probably thinking that his puerile 'Christ-like persona' will be his salvation, but he can think again.
You'd better look-out Russell; they're a tough/rough bunch in prison, and just as viciously randy as you were.

He's got nothing to worry about, he'll just get a slap on the wrist or a few weeks at His Majestie's Pleasure. After all, the only people that get the real hard sentences in Starmer and Burnham's world are ones like Lucy Connolly who say unfortunate things on social media. Even if by some mistake he gets a long sentence, he'll be out in a few months anyway under this government's early release programme.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure, it wouldn't surprise me if he gets a hefty sentence; just to make an example of him. We shall see.
DeleteYet another despicable human.
ReplyDeleteHe really is an unpleasant person. Why he has 'fans' I'll never understand.
ReplyDeleteHuguette
I'm sure justice will be seen to be done, but I like to have my own view of him heard as well. He's been hero-worshipped for far too long by the gullible; now is the time for his 'comeuppance'.
DeleteAn odious man. I don’t understand anyone who has expressed admiration for him.
ReplyDeleteNor do I. He has always been nasty, but some people 'admire' that. Look at how many people of 'death row' receive love letters!
DeleteSeems like Brand has settled down in recent years, re-inventing himself as a loyal husband and family man but the past has a tendency to catch up with people and to me the accusations seem extremely credible. He used his fame and media-endowed power to exploit his victims. He deserves a stretch in Wormwood Scrubs or Wandsworth. I am told they have steaming hot communal showers there.
ReplyDeleteHe knew this was coming so pretended to become a 'Buddhist', 'Christian', and a few other things. It fools no-one. I wonder if William Hill are taking bets on his jail term?
DeleteDon’t hold your breath, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is found not guilty
ReplyDeleteThere would be riots! Too many witnesses I think. He'll have to be found guilty.
