I don't write a lot of poetry, but when I do I really enjoy myself.
I recently came across this one from 2014. It is entitled.....
POEM IN AN UNKNOWN LANGUAGE
Trendla trendla yarna hoo
Somtery aurabel larding too
Permanbello ansenfellow ingMantargo lullingberry tinage fing
Manso manso tuttlemust fardo
Manso manso tuttlemust fardo
Wizzing trizzing didledum lardo
Armay frindig otoom atch
Sandog Trattle-ditch snatch.

I might even take-up my pen again.

Feel free to enjoy yourself. I wouldn't give up the day job quite just yet.
ReplyDeleteI take it that you're not a fan of my poetry.
DeleteI found it fun and it made as much sense as most poetry does to me.
DeleteThat's all I can hope for!
DeleteIt sounds quite jolly when read aloud.
ReplyDeleteI like lines 5 and 6.
DeleteIt made me think of " Jabberwocky". I used to know that off by heart.
ReplyDeleteNow I am thinking what a strange phrase " off by heart" is!!
Carroll and I spoke the same language. Those 'Slythy Toves' have haunted me all my life!
DeletePS. I bought the lamb shanks in red wine yesterday. Will try them next week.
DeleteLet me know what you think. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.
DeleteCould be lyrics for a song, a new direction for you.
ReplyDeleteDon't encourage me! It could only get worse.
DeleteIt too reminds me of Jabberwocky or something by Edward Lear. I think it is rather fun. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteWhen I was managing a small London Art Gallery in the mid 60's we had several EL drawings and watercolours. He was an excellent draughtsman and painter, but only known for his poems.
DeleteIt has rhythm. Stop
ReplyDeleteIt has 'something'; I'm not sure what.
DeleteJabberwocky! Use it with caution. A doctor thought Mum was having another mini stroke when she was speaking in Welsh, two little old ladies on the ward using the language of their childhood.
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to call me 'rude things' in Welsh when I was small.
DeleteAbsolutely astonishing!
ReplyDeleteAh; at last a connoisseur !!!
DeleteYou are truly a Renaissance Man!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you could help me. I'm listening to Tousi TV (ignore the ridiculous title) about your current elections. Is he accurate in his analysis?

It's still a bit early for a full result, but Labour (left wing) are doing very badly, and Reform UK (a new right wing party) are doing very well. We'll know better tomorrow. I couldn't watch all of the video.
DeleteYour poem makes as much sense to me and the election results! My County Councillor was a a retired farmer with a degree in agriculture who had run a small engineering business. Perfect fit for a very rural community. HE was replaced by a 19 year old apprentice mechanic…you couldn’t make it up.
ReplyDeleteIt beggars belief that people are voting for the bloke who brought us Brexit.
People voted Reform UK to control immigration. People voted Green to support Hamas. I'm not sure why anyone voted Lib Dem. Only the die-hard supporters voted Labour. And people are still very wary of the Tories. I wonder how it will all be reflected in the next General Election?
DeleteYes and everyone knows how much control the County Councils have over immigration🤦🏼 For your information I voted for the conservative representative…try to remember that next time you call be a far left socialist 😃
DeleteYes, I felt guilty after I asked for taking up your time. At least it wasn't a Honky Tonk song. I think I actually got some idea of how your elections run. I came away seeing the same patterns as we deal with here. It's working for those that are in charge who want to keep the status quo. We, the voters, are led to believe there really is a difference between the major parties. Here's a secret. The established Republicans hate Trump but have to fake it because we the people are actually trying to Make America Great Again. I am rooting for you folks to Make England England Again. No more loyalty to the status quo, whatever their names are and get back to loving your nation while there is still more of you than "them". Okay. No wonder I would rather listen to Honky Tonk!
ReplyDeleteI think those days are over, which is why so many voted for Mr Farage (the friend of your POTUS). He's the only person who promised to do anything about it. Far too late, I fear.
DeleteI rather loved this
ReplyDeleteThank you John. I'm pleased that ONE person appreciated my talent.
