I've always admired the way that criminals suddenly say they have become 'Christians', just as the prison parole board looks into their release.
And here is the fragrant Russell Brand doing much the same (with difficulty), after the preliminary hearing for his six cases of rape and sexual assault.
He wanted to quote something from his new bible for Piers Morgan, but he couldn't find it. He could at least have marked the page. What a plonker.
Brand is a nasty piece of work, and deserves all that's coming to him; even with that big cross around his neck, and that shiny new bible in his hand.
There must be something about the prospect of incarceration that focuses the mind such that one can suddenly discover one’s belief in an imaginary being. The whole interview is quite an interesting watch. Morgan’s restraint in just sitting there while Brand rifles through the book of words was quite impressive.
ReplyDeleteBrand has written a book on how to become a Christian in 7 days. I shall add it to my TBR though I doubt very much it will change my mind.
If he thinks it'll help his court case; it won't. Judges aren't usually that stupid. When he comes out of prison (if indeed he goes in) he'll probably write another book entitled 'How to become an atheist again in 24 hours'.
DeleteJudges might have more sense, but it will be a jury trial. I am afraid I don’t have a lot of faith in the reasoning of much of my fellow man. Look at the Brexit vote, look at the ridiculous stuff some believe about COVID - it was planned, the vaccinations change DNA and are very dangerous, - then we have the global reset, supporting David Icke who thinks the royal family are shape shifting aliens etc etc
DeleteI'm sure even a Jury would see through Brand's faux-conversion.
DeleteYou have a higher opinion of our fellow mankind, Cro. Don’t forget the average IQ is 100 and it is a normal distribution.
DeleteHa ha. Traveller had to get that dig in, didn't he. Covid was planned. The vaccinations weren't vaccinations. The Global reset is well on it's way. And Mr Icke was right all along. As for Brand, his brain is a little bit muddled, just like Traveller.
DeleteMy case rests.
DeleteYour case will never rest, Traveller. It's embedded into your psyche that you will be forever obsessed by hounding me.
DeleteI would not describe Brand as being "fragrant" as he smells like an arsehole and indeed is one!
ReplyDeleteThat, Sir, is his preferred fragrance; only HIS comes from a Bull.
DeleteTime will tell. I love the story of Legion. That guy was howling naked through the graveyards. By the time the town came out to see who killed all their pigs, he was dressed and in his right mind. I've noticed, Jesus loves to save the least likely. I know, because I was one of them, though not actually naked and howling through the graveyards. (Mark 5 and Luke 8) It offends deeply to see how indiscriminate He is. As for this man, time will tell. I can picture him having a high old time in prison telling everyone what a plonker he once was.
ReplyDeleteAnd I imagine his fellow inmates will have a lot of fun with him. They don't suffer fools in prison.
DeleteWhich is an irony considering. Cool today and sunny. My favorite weather. I'm off to look for trouble. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe've just had about an hour of light rain; our first for weeks.
DeleteFilm flam man
ReplyDeleteJust plain nasty, and now he's trying to change his image; unsuccessfully.
