With a particularly low tide recently, Billy took advantage, and went for an evening paddle with lots of other dogs.
Brighton has a Pebble Beach, but with the tide so low, the sand is revealed. The destroyed 'West Pier' is in the background.
I believe there was recently a funeral service at the church, then these flags appeared, as well as lots of beautiful red Roses around some of the trees. I know nothing more.
And in the Dog Walking Park, it looks as if someone had a fight with a tent, and the tent lost. Other bits were spread about all over the place. Dreadful mess. It never ceases to amaze me how those who choose to lead an outdoor life, always leave so much litter behind. I suppose the two go together.
And finally, here are some of the Bluebells in the churchyard. They seem particularly beautiful this year.
That's it.

Brighton City Council could arrange for all the pebbles to be removed, bringing in millions of tons of sand from The Persian Gulf. With a sandy beach, Brighton will be sure to attract many more tourists who associate the resort with foot pain.
ReplyDeleteWe could, of course, throw all the pebbles into the sea (they could organise a competition) to reveal all the beautiful sand that lies beneath.
DeleteThe bluebells are lovely. And the decorated church? Well here it would be a Saints Day. Maybe it's a St George church and they're preparing to celebrate
ReplyDeleteThe flags have now gone; I've just been past.
DeleteThat's a beautiful beach scene with the setting sun.
ReplyDeleteLady M's photo, I'm afraid it's just too much for me!
DeleteEmbrace the landsacape
ReplyDeleteI do. There's nothing that gives me more pleasure than 'nature'.
DeleteThank you for those beautiful pictures. They wash my soul. Two days ago I saw a senior citizen along the road picking up trash. We have an adopt a highway program. Trash Warriors! I was thinking about Rudy Guilliani when he became mayor of NYC. He came into terrible conditions in that city. He had a no broken window policy. They replaced them. The idea was certain folks see broken windows not replaced and interpret it as lawlessness. Those are the ones tearing down ancient markers. We went through a tearing down statues time in our country a few years ago. The newly elected president actually enforced the law against it which was federal prison. It "literally" (pun intended) stopped overnight. The Law is given to protect us. Just like walls, and borders. We all know who is the weak link in the process, and why. As we say here, "Throw the bums out!" The lawless politicians and the lawless among us. We have another saying here, "No one washes a rented car."
ReplyDeleteI am an avid collector of other people's rubbish, but the load in the photo was too much for me. I've just been by again, and it's still there. It'll need the municipal bin-men to clean it all up.
DeleteWith the exception of the litter, those are beautiful photos of the churchyard bluebells and the sea.
ReplyDeleteI live on a street with 6 houses each on a large lot of land with woodlands surrounding everything. On occasion, I find a coke can or two, water bottles and candy wrappers that someone has tossed out the car window. A neighbor has now hung cameras to identify the offender(s). Stay tuned. This neighbor is angry and means business.
I have a plastic bag permanently in my back pocket to collect other people's rubbish. I hate having to do it, but many dog walkers do the same. I was taught as a child NOT to drop rubbish, and NOT to eat in the street. These days both seem obligatory.
