The Ministry of Dismal Education has just published some disturbing figures, and they don't make for easy reading.
It seems that 11,000 pupils in 'Reception Class' (4 to 5 year olds) have been suspended from school over the past year.
4,500 resulting from attacks on teachers, 2,500 because of attacks on fellow pupils, and the rest from disruption of class, making general threats, possessing a weapon, racism, etc. One has to feel sorry for all those children who behave themselves, and are being deprived of a stable education.
It doesn't paint a pretty picture does it!
Much of the blame for this bad, or even dangerous, behaviour must be placed at the altar of Mobile Phones. Children no longer learn ordinary 'social graces' at their mother's knee; they play violent games on their phones instead. Why they are even given phones at such a tender age is a mystery!
No figures are offered for expulsions from private schools. but no doubt they do exist. Confusing the words there, their, and they're, is a common reason for expulsion, as is calling a scone a 'scowne', or even holding a knife like a pencil. All worthy of instant expulsion. The government is (not-surprisingly) trying to do-away with such schools. (N.B. In case you were born without any sense of humour, this para was intended to be 'amusing').
Amongst other complaints from 'Reception Class' teachers, are of children coming to school 'STILL IN NAPPIES'. Unbelievable.

11,000 5 year Olds? You're breeding a generation of savages. Here there's more violence but nothing like that. 5 year old are still mainly sweet innocents. Any children charged/suspended have their parents arrested and charged with neglect.... and more.
ReplyDeleteIf kids, are found at school with mobile phones they are suspended and can be expelled. What happens to them after expulsion I do not know.
But it all begins at home. It's a bit bleak when you think these toddlers are going to have kids of their own.
I find it shocking. What on earth have we inflicted on the 'Mobile Phone Generation'?
DeleteThe problem is, Cro, that children are no longer learning ordinary social graces - or anything else for that matter - at their mother's knee, because mother is too busy with her important career and sends them off to childcare instead, or just can't be bothered. I think this is the root of the problem, children no longer have a home to feel loved in. Call me old fashioned but I think mother's first priority should be their children, not a 'career'. If you're not going to take care of them yourself why have them in the first place, other than as a status symbol.
ReplyDeleteI always had two very strict rules with my own children. A story at bedtime, and we always ate together around a table. It seems to have served them well.
DeleteMother at home and father working. Oh this is early twenties image. Hopefully women are now getting more interesting jobs and are not submitted any more to husbands wishes. What about children whose mother died or is seriously ill ?And above all each child is different and should not be judged. Children may have nappies at four for one reason or another, what about not so old or old people having nappies ?
Deletewishes.
Paying a mortgage with one wage is well nigh impossible for people on an average wage. The responsibility for raising children is also down to fathers.
DeleteThere have always been bad parents and dysfunctional families.
You describe exactly what has gone wrong. Child-rearing roles have now become so confused that no-one is prepared to take responsibility. What an awful woke mess, and just look what it has produced..
DeleteI don’t know what’s happening to today’s youth. I saw a gang of toddlers in leather jackets smoking e-cigarettes in an alley last week. Scary stuff!
ReplyDeleteTheir parents, or parent, don't have a clue where their children are, or what they're doing. Most families do well, but it's the no-hopers who spoil it for everyone else.
DeleteIn my granddaughter's reception class, children are only expelled when they talk posh. If you were five and in that same class you wouldn't last five minutes.
ReplyDeleteYou give me hope! I could head south and speak understandable 'Home Counties'.
DeleteI'm disappointed. I thought ypu wpuld make a nice comment about Andrew
ReplyDeleteand the royals
.Would have been worth somes lines, but I suppose you are a fervent admirer of the crown. and Charles maybe is innocent in this scandal. Who knows what happens behind thick walls.
Bettina
A nice comment about Andrew? I can’t imagine what you must mean. There is nothing nice to say
DeleteOf course I'm a supporter of our Royal Family; I'm ENGLISH. However I've never been a fan of Andrew's, his fragrant wife, or his fragrant daughters.
DeleteThe English Royal Family has a history of "unfortunate" behaviour - Margaret and her dalliances on Mustique, Charles and Diana slagging each other off in TV interviews, Harry washing his dirty linen in public etc.
DeleteHowever Randy Andy/Air Miles Andy (take your pick...) has hit a new low by being the first royal to be arrested since Charles I nearly 400 years ago.
It does rather detract from those who just get on with the job like Anne and Edward. As for William, just a woke nonentity, heaven help us when he gets his turn if the monarchy has survived that long....
Kate is fragrant too and Andrew was cherished by his mother . Many English people want to abolish royalty, in my eyes a good idea.
ReplyDeleteDon't be silly. I suppose you'd vote for a President Corbyn!!!
DeleteI like your way to know what people vote, think etc. Big laugh !You can be wrong or righr ,but it's evident that you are unable to accept other persons opinion. How stupid a nation could be to bow before those decadent ridiculous royals.
DeleteWow…more dinosaur talk….women belong in the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteErrm; the topic was actually about misbehaviour by very young children in schools. What makes you think that 'Women belong in the kitchen'?
