When my late Father-in-Law finally quit his life travelling the world as a diplomat, he settled in Crowborough in Sussex.
You may have seen Crowborough on The News, every day for the past month. It is a genteel, small town, typical of many such East Sussex locations. Not much happens, there is little crime, and it has an aura of well-heeled respectability.
Outside of the town, on the road to Uckfield, is a large Army Training Camp, which was used to train Army Cadets. This has now been closed, the Cadets removed, and an exciting new use has been found by the government's Woke-Folk.
The camp is to hold 600 charming illegal immigrants, and the entire population of Crowborough is UP IN ARMS. They DON'T WANT 600 young swarthy foreigners, of whom they know absolutely nothing, roaming the streets of their small town. They are frightened that what has happened so often elsewhere, will now happen on their own doorsteps. They are locking-up their wives and daughters, reinforcing their home security systems, putting locks on their outdoor buildings, and installing CCTV cameras wherever they can.
But most of all, they simply want them to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Whilst in my school cadet corps, I trained several times at Crowborough. I am horrified at the prospect of the town being assaulted in this way by the dumping of 600+ third world dross into their midst. There is only one place that should be used to house this invading army, and that is on Eurostar trains straight back to France
ReplyDeleteI simply cannot understand why successive UK governments don't grasp the basic fact that these are ILLEGAL immigrants - criminals- who should not be allowed to either land or remain on British soil. They should be either towed back into French waters and left there, or put on the first train or ferry back to France. We don't want them in hotels, army camps or HMOs, just get rid of them!
I did my CCF Officer training at Catterick. I would have preferred Crowborough.
DeleteOf course you are right about everything. We are walking blindly into disaster. These illegal immigrants come here with an agenda; and we all know what that is. If we do nothing about them, the agenda will be completed very soon.
The local people have no peaceful recourse as the residents are denied the vote. It leaves them with few alternatives. It's going to end very badly.

DeleteSo sad to hear about this. Having visited several Towns and Villages in sleepy Surrey and Sussex, these are the last places in England that you would expect this traitorous Labour government to continue their relentless agenda.
ReplyDeleteHaving visited Surrey last Summer was like being in a different world altogether, away from all the problems of overcrowded urban areas.
So now they want to bring in all those problems into our green and peaceful rural areas. I fully support the people of Crowborough.
I will always support genuine asylum seekers and always have. But these illegal arrivals here now, broke all the rules to be here. They are opportunists and that's the plain truth.
Interesting that not a single leftie loving migrant supporter is prepared to personally house a single one of them.
Some high profile luvvies in the past have made a big thing about housing "asylum seekers" but when it came to the crunch all found excuses not to. Maybe the hotels used should for housing them should be in places like Islington where the cheerleaders for these illegals live, see how they like it.

ReplyDeleteThe Woke, doo-gooder brigade have a powerful voice in the Labour Party, and no-one dares oppose them. The more sensible public are ignored. It'll end badly when it's all too late.
DeleteWho the hell are these "Woke Folk" to whom you refer? To me being "woke" is a laudable trait. As for housing asylum seekers, I wrote to the last Home Secretary suggesting a couple of disused ocean liners anchored in Southampton Water. I did not get a reply. Perhaps the fragrant Yvette Cooper thought I was a woke bloke who snorts coke for a joke.
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no idea who the Woke-Folk are, but we see them all the time holding silly banners whilst wearing Dungarees and Hamas-supporting scarves. I imagine many of them are from The Green Party or The Liberals. Lost souls who live amongst like-minded professional protesters.

DeleteYou can put it all down to jealousy. The Labour government and it's misguided followers are determined to ruin the lives of anyone who they see have a comfortable or peaceful lifestyle. When they have brought the UK to it's knees (which won't be long now!) and flooded every part of the country with illegals, they'll all be rushing off to far-flung places using the money that Reeves has "obtained" from her taxation after her constant moaning about the billion blackholes in the economy.
