About Me
- Cro Magnon
- I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching). Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
We are having a heatwave here. Beautiful clear blue skies. Last night my husband and I, both saw a falling star; I made a wish!

I've just returned from my early dog-walking duties, and it's already warming up; it's going to be a stinker again.
Delete.... And, not to be outdone , it's going to be hot, hot, hot here in the UK for the next few days .... I'm going to have the roof down on my car today.. Not a regular occurrence!!!!!! Golden Sunday for GB in Rio, golden sunshine for us in GB !!!!!! XXXX

DeleteI remember my days in nearby Ely. Winters could be quite harsh, but summers were good.
DeleteI loved Summers in Easter England, when I was further South - but up here in North Yorkshire we have had about three days of Summer weather.

DeleteWe are now entering week two of our heat...104 F here yesterday afternoon. Meanwhile the folks down in Louisiana are experiencing serious, dangerous flooding, so I won't moan too much about our stickiness.

ReplyDeleteWe got some needed rain last night so I won't have to trudge around with the hose today in the heat.
We're being told to expect some 'light rain' on the 20 th.... I'm not banking on it.
