I really miss those cars where there were only a few things to do. You filled them with petrol and oil, made sure the plugs were clean, and (if necessary) cleaned the inside of the distributor. Then, as long as it had a good battery; it went. Why can't some forward thinking manufacturer make one again like that?Cro Magnonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06840670227576695352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-30944733375535312972019-08-03T01:58:59.348+01:002019-08-03T01:58:59.348+01:00A great trip, Cro. We paid £75 for it. The little indicator wings kept jamming and you had to thump on the sides of the car to get them to work. We 'modernised' the car by changing to indicator lights.
It was the only car where we could lift the bonnet and actually understand what to do! We went everywhere in it. Although you can replace the wood my husband has sanded it down and re varnished and it looks great. He bought new back lights which are glass and had the bulbs and were £9.00. We are members of the Morris club and found a supplier that delivers next day free of charge. My husband was attracted by the fact that he can get all the parts and they are cheap. We also have a garage near us that restores old cars for any works too big for us.Carol Caldwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02800245681845689902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-84986117950816783782019-08-02T14:21:30.290+01:002019-08-02T14:21:30.290+01:00Good runners like that need a lot of love and main...Good runners like that need a lot of love and maintenance.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10787732343048847565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-59259070888579966192019-08-02T14:06:53.926+01:002019-08-02T14:06:53.926+01:00Your dad must have been clever Jack; it was a sto...Your dad must have been clever Jack; it was a stocking for a fan belt with us, much easier.Rachel Phillipshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16053924416805878169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-55899975713396711612019-08-02T13:55:21.149+01:002019-08-02T13:55:21.149+01:00Reminds me of our old ford prefect but our trips u...Reminds me of our old ford prefect but our trips usually ended up with four arguing kids threatened with ejection.
Well writtenlocal alienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14586011850451326646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-13515624128074572142019-08-02T13:38:12.293+01:002019-08-02T13:38:12.293+01:00Thank you Wendy.Thank you Wendy.Cro Magnonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06840670227576695352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-41959639768513268072019-08-02T13:37:40.951+01:002019-08-02T13:37:40.951+01:00My mother used to turn the engine off when we went...My mother used to turn the engine off when we went down hills.
