These are corrugated wagons on iron wheels, used during the lambing season by the sort of people who feature in Thomas Hardy's novels. My mate sells his huts to pop-stars, etc. who use them as spare rooms and offices.Tom Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979590950587415840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-1288757222499853812010-03-06T06:20:44.013+00:002010-03-06T06:20:44.013+00:00I'll look out for that book T, thanks. She's sadly no longer with us, but I know she wouldn't have minded.Cro Magnonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06840670227576695352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-1772503325045612322010-03-05T18:38:08.857+00:002010-03-05T18:38:08.857+00:00Oh, what a wonderful story, and memories. I'v thought about putting up a canvas tent with a floor, they sell some nice ones.We get so much rain though.....Linda Tunnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13423265966091830574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-36234436712641372802010-03-05T16:52:39.680+00:002010-03-05T16:52:39.680+00:00Great post! Deals with gypsies on Achill Island on the west coast of Ireland in the 1950's. Highly recommended. It's out of print but can probably be found floating around somewhere online.T. https://www.blogger.com/profile/16509409207991963533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-75639514640779567452010-03-05T13:35:55.500+00:002010-03-05T13:35:55.500+00:00Okay, are you reading my mind? I had a dream of a gypsy wagon this week, and mentioned how much fun it would be to have one at WM, for dinner parties, etc.

(If you decide to cremate me in it, do make sure I'm really dead first.)Tess Kincaidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04889725786678984293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5227064496185547313.post-54715130538806527042010-03-05T09:45:04.050+00:002010-03-05T09:45:04.050+00:00Well it wasn't Petulengro. He walked ahead of her, but would turn around every now and then and make as if to hit her, though I never saw him make contact. I've forgotten his name, but had a couple of painted wagons in the grounds of his large house. He was the one who taught me how to sharpen a felling axe so well, that you could shave with it!Tom Stephensonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05979590950587415840noreply@blogger.com
