Cro and Yael, we are blessed to have a farm just down the road and the farm butter is TDF (to die foe) and not at all expensive. Yesterday the tub I selected from the cold farm's outdoor shop's cold room weighed 1.14kg and cost me R85 = Euro 5.27! In the supermarket we pay double that for commercial butter.
For not foe! Sorry! Cro, thanks for visiting my blog. I love seeing you there! I love visiting your blog as you have an idyllic life. I thought your cat wasn't sociable. Or am I thinking of someone else?

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
That was nice. (every day i still miss my cigarette).I am going now to look for butter in our small shop here.
ReplyDeleteHappy hunting. We did find one small pack yesterday, but it was more expensive than usual.

ReplyDeleteYou are lucky, i just came back from the shop, no butter.
DeleteJo, you might be wise to buy several kilos; there could be a world shortage, and price rise.

ReplyDeleteOur cat is very independent. We only really see him when he wants food, other than at night when he sleeps on top of me!
DeleteCats music and butter. Plenty of Lurpak in Waitrose yesterday. Plenty of happy cats here. And music courtesy of you.
ReplyDeleteI've just been watching Brighton on Match of the Day. Not bad at all.
DeleteThought of you as I slid 250g butter into my brownie recipe today!
ReplyDeleteAnd Lady Magnon made a Lemon Drizzle cake; we're living dangerously.
DeleteAbsolutely no music appeared on my screen - just a long black space.
ReplyDeleteNo problems here; I wonder what happened?
DeleteI’m glad we don’t have a butter shortage in the states with holidays soon upon us. There will be baking and cooking which calls for delicious butter!
ReplyDeleteIt's really come at the wrong time of year. Butter is needed for almost everything.
DeleteDarn.....I can't smoke ! Will a strong gin and bitter lemon do?
ReplyDeleteI don't smoke either, I just imagine it.
