Dog Club.

Bok had a few of his friends visiting yesterday. Three of them are from next door, and one from about 500 metres away; they visit on a regular basis. They all get on with each other very well.

This is Bok (left) with his rival Iggy Pup. They are the only two males amongst the gang; Iggy Pup being 'complete', whereas Bok isn't. They have very similar markings, but are not related.

And this is Bok with his little harem of admiring girlies. In the background Lulu, in front of her is Izzy, and behind Bok is Jinxy.

Iggy Pup and Jinxy are the parents of Lulu.

They ran around the fields for a while, sniffed each other's bottoms, then went their ways. I always like to see them socialising; it's their home just as much as it is ours.

  1. How wonderful! When we first got Ginger we lived out in the country, and a small group of dogs used to show up every morning after breakfast to visit with her. It's one of my favorite memories from those days! I'm glad Bok has so many friends and playmates!

  2. You can ever have too many friends. Good for Bok that they visit often.

  3. What a sociable boy Bok is, good to know he has so many friends - it can be lonely for a dog living on his own.

    1. No chance of loneliness here. Dogs everywhere.

  4. Well, at least Bok's harem is safe with him. Greetings Maria x

  5. That's true. There's no danger of anyone knocking on the door with an armful of Bok
look-alike puppies. Wouldn't they be cute though !

    1. Our first dog here (Hamlet) had offspring all over the place.

  6. Both of our boys, Buddha and San Geraldo, are neutered; doesn't stop the rivalry. Generally, however, they are the best of friends despite the 8 year age difference.

    1. Rivalry between males is in-built, with all creatures.

  7. Our dogs go out on a pack walk each day whilst Im at work. A dog Walker takes them. I get the odd photo like this of them in the fields in their pack. The dogs think I don't know.

    1. Cats rarely like each other; even when they're shagging they moan.

    2. They're probably saying "for God's sake hurry up".

  9. Interesting that Bok enjoys visits like that. Most dogs guard their property and dont care for canine visitors.

    1. I imagine that they think of each other as part of a small select community.

  10. Oh that's so heartwarming to see. Bok is lucky to have all the friends to play with on a regular basis.

    1. They're a bit like your lot on the golf course!

  11. Oh, what a difference a country makes. I love that they all get on so well. I do hope you don't let Bok go off with them as the pack mentality kicks in sometimes. They can get into trouble. I know of farmers who shoot dogs in packs because of their livestock. But, that picture is priceless. My life revolves around my dogs. People where I live keep their dogs in pens or chained up which is horrible as dogs love to run free.

    1. The visitors are very welcome to visit, but Bok isn't allowed to visit them!

  12. They make a fine group. The nicest thing in the world is to see dogs playing or sitting in the sunlight. Pure joy.

  13. Nice to see a group of dogs getting along with each other. Wish that our two rottweiller girls could have fun with other dogs, but there are none around!

  14. It would be good if all human neighbors got on as well.

  15. I've always been fascinated by the social life of dogs. Cats, though, are another story altogether!
