One Man Went To Mow, tra la la...

My old mower has been a little disobedient recently. So, after a futile attempt by myself to repair it (for the 100th time) I finally gave-in, and took it to a pro'.

I have to admit to being a little embarrassed about my home-made cornflake packet gasket (ahem), so I lied to him and told him that a 'friend' had repaired it some time ago, and that the same 'friend' had tried again quite recently. I wasn't going to admit to being that 'friend'....no siree!

Last Friday when I went to collect it, the mechanic said that 'MY 'FRIEND' WAS A TOTAL IDIOT, AND I WAS NEVER, NEVER, TO LET HIM FIDDLE WITH IT AGAIN'.

I assured him that I would pass on the message (ahem). Lady Magnon nearly wet herself sniggering.

Anyway, in between time I have purchased this new Formula 1, team McCullock, babe magnet, land cruiser mowing hunk.

Low profile tyres, sleek elegant design, furry dice (hidden from view), and a deep throaty growl from its 140 cc engine..... a beast of the mower world (and a beast of the design world).

I believe that McCullock is now owned 100% by Husqvarna, which gives confidence. This was its first sortie, and it seemed to work OK.

Right; let's burn rubber!

    1. No; you must be experiencing Irish 'déja vu'. I'd previously mentioned that the bloody mower had broken; that's all.

  6. My old mower has been acting up, too, and now simply won't start. I called the repair place, and they said they weren't taking on any new projects for the summer as they are booked solid. Himself will be collecting and bringing a second mower, which is good, as the back yard is approaching Very Tall Grass status. With all the rain we've had, it'll be ready for a machete if i don't cut it soon.

    1. What DID people do before there were mowers? Scythes, no doubt.

  7. That looks very similar to the McCullock mower my husband bought two years ago in Le Clerc... Great improvement on the old banger of a mower he had before. He finally gave up on that one -- or rather the mower gave up on him -- it died and would not be resurrected. I think it's lying somewhere in the back of the shed -- in case he needs bits of it for something or another!
